John Paul II Foundation

Specific activities of the John Paul II Foundation include:

  • Scholarships for students from Eastern Europe and, more recently, Asia.

The John Paul II Foundation prepares future intellectual leaders from and for Eastern Europe. The allocation of scholarships allows strictly selected students to carry out a master’s degree and/or a PhD at the Catholic University of Lublin and the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków, Poland. As of today, over 950 students have completed their courses of study, received their academic degrees, and returned home to work.

  • Short-term scholarships provided to individuals coming to Rome to do researches on the John Paul II teachings.
  • The Center for Documentation and Research of the Pontificate of John PauII: preserves documents relating to John Paul II’s pontificate and passes on this patrimony to the next generations. The collected material is used to lead scholarly researches, studies and write press articles.  The Center is also organizing symposia and exhibits.
  • The Home for Ferie in Rome: a place open to all pilgrims, hosting them during their stay in Rome. The Home is a place where pilgrims experience the religious and cultural dimensions of their pilgrimage.
